HTC Desire 601
Will the rather expensive ad campaign featuring Robert Downey Jr. start paying off for HTC? We can’t say for sure since it has not been going on for very long. However HTC might need the help if they keep releasing phones every so often. Consider the case of the newest HTC – the Desire 601.
The HTC Desire 601 is a mid-range smartphone that sits somewhere between the HTC One and HTC Desire 500 – and seems to carry genes from both. From the back the phone resembles the HTC Desire 500 whilst the front seems ‘inspired’ from the HTC One/ HTC One Mini. The Desire 601’s polycarbonate body seems to hold some of the great HTC features though. The phone gets BoomSound, Sense 5, BlinkFeed and Zoe share.
It features a 4.5-inch qHD display with 960 * 540 resolution. There is a Snapdragon 400 under the hood clocked at 1.4GHz. The processor is supported by 1GB of RAM and phone features 8GB internal storage. This is expandable via a microSD card to up to 64GB. The phone also comes with DLNA and Bluetooth 4.0. Since it is a mid-range phone, the Ultrapixel technology is missing from this device. Instead there is a 5-megapixel rear camera as well as a VGA-front camera.
The HTC Desire 601 will be available in black, red and white. Since the device isn’t actually available in the market, there is likelihood that HTC might tweak it further before releasing the final model.
